Luke is a Research Assistant with the US-China Strong Foundation. He recently graduated from Gettysburg College with a double major B.A. in East Asian Studies and International Affairs as well as a minor in Political Science. During his sophomore year, Luke studied abroad in Beijing at Capital Normal University. For his senior theses, Luke evaluated the changes over time in the Chinese government’s disaster response and studied the financial costs and benefits of a more ardent anti-smoking campaign in China. While on campus, Luke served as a language tutor for students in Chinese language classes. Since middle school, Luke has possessed a passion for studying other cultures with the hope that increased understanding will lead to a safer and more secure world. During his time with US-China Strong, Luke hopes to help clarify perceptions of China and increase mutual understanding between our two important countries.
