We’re pleased to announce that Lester Ross, Partner-in-Charge of WilmerHale’s Beijing office, has joined the 100,000 Strong Foundation as a Senior Advisor.
Les brings with him decades of China experience from a range of sectors, making him a tremendous asset to our team as we expand our footprint in China. As former Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce – People’s Republic of China (AmCham) and current Chair of its Policy Committee and Insurance Forum, Les is a longstanding leader of the American business and legal communities in China. He possesses expertise across a wide range of legal issues and is considered one of the top legal experts in China. Les’ strategic guidance and legal counsel will help steer the Foundation as we navigate the next stage of our development.
Fluent in Mandarin, Les has been a visiting scholar at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences in Beijing. At WilmerHale, he represents foreign companies in their strategic expansion in China through direct investments and mergers and acquisitions, with a specific focus on advising foreign companies on competition law and regulatory compliance in China.
Les joins fellow Senior Advisor Lin Gao (AmCham Beijing) and Board Members Liz Haenle (Sage Worldwide) and Maggie Sans (Wal Mart) as champions for 100K Strong in China. This growing team of on-the-ground China advisors is critical to our success in building stronger US-China relations.
