It is my pleasure today to announce the addition of four new distinguished members to the 100,000 Strong Foundation’s Advisory Council.
The new members include Kris Balderston and Reta Jo Lewis, both of whom recently left the State Department where they served as senior advisors to then-Secretary Clinton, and prominent business leaders George Lee and Dominic Ng. We are so thrilled to have them on board – their experience and knowledge will prove invaluable to our efforts.
Kris, who is now Senior Partner and Washington Director at public affairs firm Fleishman-Hillard, served as Special Representative for Global Partnerships and managed the Global Partnership Initiative at State. He’s a veteran of both the Clinton White House and Capitol Hill. Reto Jo, an attorney, served as the Special Representative for Global Intergovernmental Affairs at the State Department. She has had a distinguished career as a lawyer, a diplomat and a senior advisor to American and international political leaders.
We’ve always said that the 100,000 Strong Foundation sits at the nexus of the foreign policy and business worlds, so I’m delighted that George and Dominic have also agreed to join the Advisory Council. George is the Executive Vice Chairman, CEO and President of MetroCorp Bancshares, Inc., the only Chinese bank based in Houston that is publicly traded. Dominic is the CEO of EastWest Bank, a Chinese-American bank based in California with more than 120 branch locations in the US and China. He’s also Chairman of the Committee of 100.
Kris, Reta Jo, George and Dominic join an already stellar group of foreign policy and business leaders on the Advisory Council, and I look forward to the contributions they’ll make in support of our mission to enhance the US-China strategic relationship through study abroad.
Thanks, as always, for your continued support!
